"ageing trouble" is an urban audio walk through Dortmund's Nordstadt district by schubert-stegemann collective.
Three female performers and a female dancer between 30 and 72 question how age-discriminatory social structures affect our perception of public space and rehearse the rebellion: How can they conquer urban space and rewrite clichés about age and femininity? Which places are accessible for whom, and for whom not? What do an ageing industrial city and an old body have in common? What does the city mean for their identity? In the performance and audio collage consisting of interviews with older women and residents, texts by schubert-stegemann and Nordstadt sounds, the audience strolls through the city and is invited to question their own view of the neighborhood and of aging.
